Lima Expresa upgrades pedestrian bridges to make everyday journeys safer in Lima
- Six pedestrian bridges have been upgraded recently to improve safety and accessibility for daily users.
- The works include new staircases, renewed guardrails and anti-corrosion treatment to extend the infrastructure lifespan.

Lima Expresa, a subsidiary of VINCI Highways and concessionaire of the Vía de Evitamiento and the Vía Expresa Línea Amarilla, completed maintenance works on six pedestrian bridges between 2025 and 2026. Aligned with the high standards of VINCI Highways, these interventions aimed to improve walkability and extend the lifespan of the following structures: Caja de Agua, Huascarán, Ramiro Prialé, Santa Rosa, Quechuas, and Primavera bridges.
As part of the actions developed in 2025, the concessionaire replaced the staircases in both directions of the Primavera, Santa Rosa, and Quechuas pedestrian bridges. Subsequently, in 2026, it carried out a full overhaul of the guardrails on the Caja de Agua, Huascarán, and Ramiro Prialé bridges, thereby completing comprehensive upgrades on these structures.
Furthermore, a specialized anti-corrosion protection treatment was executed on the Ramiro Prialé bridge, given that it is a steel structure. This intervention included removing damaged paint and rust, treating moisture, and applying a new high-adherence coating system designed to protect the bridge from environmental agents and prolong its service life.

As part of its comprehensive maintenance plan, Lima Expresa will carry out new interventions on the Setame and IPD pedestrian bridges in the coming months, reaffirming its commitment to the safety, mobility, and well-being of its customers and users.
